Conversation on the way to school this morning.
Me:  I'm so excited about the Royal wedding tomorrow.  Can you even imagine waking up and being a Princess?
Savannah:  Mom, I'm already a princess.
End of conversation.

Sunday is Coming

Thursday, April 21, 2011

As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, I think about when they crucified Jesus. On that Friday, it was the darkest, most painful, discouraging day of His life. In fact, it was so bad that He sweat drops of blood earlier. It looked as if His enemies had gotten the best of Him. But God had other plans. They put Him in the grave on Friday, celebrating their victory, but Sunday morning was a different story. The grave could not hold Him! Death couldn't contain Him! The forces of darkness couldn't stop Him! On the third day, He came out of the grave, and He said, "I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore!"
One principle that the resurrection teaches us is that God will always finish what He started. No matter how dark it looks, no matter how long it's been, no matter how many people are trying to push you down; if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday. He will always complete what He started in you!

Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 17, 2011

Awesome start to Holy Week.
Palm Sunday Mass.
Beautiful Message.
This song ALWAYS brings me to tears.

Lyrics to Were You There When They Crucified My Lord :
Were you there when they crucified my Lord ?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they crucified my Lord ?

Were you there when they nailed him to the tree ?
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree ?

Were you there when they pierced him in the side ?
Were you there when they pierced him in the side ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they pierced him in the side ?

Were you there when they laid him in the tomb ?
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb ?

Have a blessed Holy Week.

Are You Ready For Some Kickball

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Easter is Next Week.
Family Mass.
Lunch.
Egg Hunt.
Family/Friends Kickball.
Expecting hmmmm....... 60+ people.
Every year we host Easter for my family and my husband's family and some friends.  We average anywhere from 50 to 70 people.  We have large families.  We start with lunch, egg hunt and then kickball.  Our guest list this year includes the ages from 3 months to 89 years old.  My kickball team is the Hunny Bunnies.  My niece is making us shirts this year.  (Yeah Christy).  My team has won for the past two years - we are hoping to maintain our status this year. (WINNER)  The game is fun, competitive.....very competitive...... and a lot of smack talking.  Stay tuned to see who wins.

This picture is Steve and his winning team in 2008.  The coach getting the "water" over his head.  As a matter of fact this was the last time they won. Just saying.

Sketch and Girlfriends

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Sunday night was girls night out.  Spent time sketching and sipping with my best girls. What a great time we had.  We usually spend the evening at someones house or a restaurant but this time we decided to change it up a bit.  Being as we are all "Groupon" followers, we got a DEAL.  $20 for an awesome evening. And we even impressed ourselves a little.
Tracy was the birthday girl for the month.
Barb is ready to get started.
Our wonderful teacher who had a lot of patience with us.
 Carole hard at work.

Barb and Amy ready to roll.
Michelle was showing her serious side.

Sheri Sheri How Does Your Garden Grow?

Sunday, April 10, 2011

I am so excited about my garden.  The beauty of living in Florida is that we can plant our garden the first part of March.  So, March 1st we planted; corn, snow peas, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, sweet peppers, tomatoes, herbs, carrots and sunflowers.
Today we picked.  Cilantro and Tomatoes.
Then we made salsa.
And..... planted potatoes.
Here is a glimpse of how it's growing.  We weeded and raked all the leaves today but was excited to share the photos.  Un-edited - sorry.

Love this gift from the "garden boy".
 My garden helper.
Instead of a "pool boy", I have a "garden boy" - cute huh?
Tomatoes and Cilantro - freshly picked.

Homemade Salsa - right from the garden.
