Wow. What a Week.

Started off with Savannah's Cheer Banquet.
Proud Mom Moment!
Received her varsity Letter
and
Captain's Award
Savannah and Elaine with their Varsity Letters

 My sweet mom and I

What a beautiful group of young ladies representing Tampa Catholic Cheer

Thursday, my best friend Shannan came to town.
Her mother was being honored with a bronze bench/figure
A replica of her
At "A Kids Place"
For her dedication and hard work for neglected and abused kids in our community
A wonderful woman
battling cancer
So after Shannan and my Steve sat up until 3am on Friday
discussing life
the bible
etc.
and as one would figure I feel asleep in the chair the first hour
into the discussion
around 11 pm
nothing new there :)
right Shan?

 Friday morning,

we attended the event honoring this awesome woman

 Dottie posing with the bench/figure

Please keep Dottie in your prayers as she is battling cancer.

After the dedication, we shopped a little and caught up
with some of our favorite ladies.
The red hot chili peppers as we care to call ourselves
well, maybe 27 years ago when we all met we were
but anyway,
we met Deb and Christy for lunch
awesome time with these ladies
catching up on life and enjoying each other
as we always do
when we are together.

 Shannan and Christy
We celebrated Christy's birthday too :)

This pic is out of order
and being an
inexperienced blogger
I have no idea how to move it
That's me being a book nerd at Barnes and Noble!

Deb and I at lunch with my new necklace
from sweet Paige
one of her Noonday pieces
If you haven't bought anything from her
you should.

So, after lunch, needless to say,
my sweet friend Shan was a bit tired
we decided to forgo a little shopping
and head back home for a little nap
because that's what old people do
we kidded to ourselves.
After some rest, we were on the road
again
this time to
Anthropology
always a fun trip
followed by Starbucks and Barnes and Noble

 Shannan researching something about
Mary
to follow up on her discussion
with Steve
I love that these two have been friends since 2nd grade
She introduced us 23 years ago
Love that girl!

So, we called it a night
and hit it bright and early the next morning
Breakfast with Savannah and Flat Stanley
First Watch
our favorite
Followed by a trip to my favorite thrift store
Life Treasures by Hospice
Fresh Market
Ikea
and called it a day.
Shan left driving back to the other side of the state
:(
boo - our visits are never long enough
but I treasure the time we have together
after all
she's my bestest friend
ever.

Flat Stanley and I at breakfast
Shannan was giving Flat Stanley a tour

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.

Very successful, I might add.

Next is my find at the thrift store - leather bracelet - LOVE it .....$1 (seriously)

Next is my little baking box that is needing some love (maybe this weekend)

Next is my new Kitchen Aid Coffee Maker - kinda glad the old one died last week.

Followed by Target finds :)

And last but not least.....low carb breakfast - down 11 pounds and counting! yay me.

Happy Monday blogger friends.

Spring Break and the Beach

Friday, April 13, 2012

We live 45 minutes from the beach
And when we are there it feels like we are in another state
Spring Break 2012
AnnaMaria Beach, FL
Quiet time
Sleeping in
Staying up late
Breakfast "dives" with greasy food
Ice Cream
Perfect Weather
Beautiful Sunsets
Good Friends
Para sailing
and reading this
If you haven't read it, do it!
If you don't follow her blog, follow it!
She is truly amazing.
And Nella is the cutest little thing ever!

It's so amazing to sit on the shore and just watch the sun go down into the water.  It's also amazing no matter how many times you see it, it still feels like the first.
Truly breathtaking.
People gather around and just stop to watch it -
God is so good and if you need a reminder, just sit on the beach at sunset.

Migrant Festival and an Awesome Husband

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

This past Saturday was an awesome day
A migrant festival in a nearby community
An event to support migrant farm workers and their families
My husband through his restaurant connections
received over 1,000 pounds of meat donated
buns
chili
granola bars
cookies
drinks
Over 900 people were served
Moon Jumps for the kids
Free haircuts
Crafts
Face Painting
Free toys, clothes and shoes to every child  (all donations)
DJ with live music and dancing
and the most beautiful weather..... thank you Jesus
and then rained on the way home!
God is so good.
These people were so appreciative, humble and beautiful

My husband also raffled a golf cart through his restaurants
all proceeds will benefit the
Migrant Educational Program
in this little community
that we plan to do so much more for

I fully support all the organizations that support
the less fortunate overseas
I donate to them myself
every.chance.I.get.
But I don't think people realize how people in our own backyards live
These migrant families, most with young children,
are the backbone of our agricultural business
they are poor, and have very little
and it's time we help those in need.

My cute husband on the right.
 Is she adorable or what?
 Ribs, ribs and more ribs.
 Snowcone time!
 The Beefmobile :)
My sweet husband and his Emmaus Brothers from Nativity
And the golf cart that was raffled off.
The winner donated it back
Steve sold it
so we doubled the proceeds of the raffle sales!
Again, God is so good!!!!

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
