My morning devotion spoke directly to my heart today.
"Avoid getting negative when you look at your circumstances. Actively wait on God to give you strength to walk in the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23) Wait with purpose, silently listening for Him to speak, eagerly watching for Him to act. Then watch for the opportunity to act godly as He give you strength to do so.
I helped a friend move her daughter into her apartment at University of Central Florida this week. Much more involved than moving Robert into his apartment in Tallahassee NEXT week. Tara's room is full :) Robert on the other hand is "good" with everything I buy. He is so easy to please. His room will not be full of butterflies and girly things like Tara's but it will be perfect for him.
My heart is still heavy when I think about him leaving home in 8 days. I am praying for a good college experience for him. I'm excited for this next stage of his life but I cannot imagine living every day without him. 275 miles, 4 1/2 hours, that's a long way from home.
You will do great Aunt Sheri!
ReplyDeletepraying for you sweetie...
ReplyDeletethis is tough isn't it....
sigh
I don't know how I'll do it when my day comes. Yet I know that God always gives His best to His children...even if it hurts at first!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your son!

Thank you for stopping by my blog! I LOVE yours! What a good mom you are for being excited about this next phase of your son's life. I remember college and I had the BEST time...I meet some great friends, grew-up a ton, learned a lot about myself and others and best meet my husband! I would not trade my college years for anything...and I hope and prayer your son has a great experience too. I was about 4 hours away from home...and it did wonders for me!
ReplyDeleteI hope the drop off went well. I'm catching up so perhaps you wrote about it. Can't wait to see. :)
